Islam, the way of life ordained by Almighty Allah right from the first man and Prophet Hazrat Adam, stands for submission to God and universal brotherhood. Almighty Allah sent his last Prophet Muhammad ﷺ when mankind entered the most enlightened period of its progress. The Prophet said that his mission was to perfect the human relations. ‘I have been sent to perfect the moral standards and refine the human behaviour.’
The popular axiom is correct that charity begins at home. It mustbe added that after our home, next comes our neighbour. Islamic teachings do not stop there because the entire mankind is the family of God. Mankind is one. All other divisions are artificial and unreal. All human beingsare neighbours and family members of each other. The whole world belongs to God and all human beings are brothers and sisters to one another.
When the Messenger of Allah entered Makkah in 630 CE, he declared, “O human beings! Your Lord is One, your father is also one, you are the progeny of Adam, and Adam was made out of soil.” Then he added: No Arab is superior to anon-Arab. Neither a white man is greater than a black man, nor a black man is greater than a white man. Greatness lies in piety, fear of God and sense of responsibility towards God and His servants.
Islam builds the human society on the foundation of mutual love, respect, peace and justice. It stresses that all human beings are equal to each other. God says in the Holy Qur’an, ‘O human beings, We have created you from one man and one woman, then We made you into tribes and communities so that you may know each other. Verily, the noblest among you is one who is God-fearing (and who has the greatest sense of responsibility).
The tragedy of the modern world emanates from unnatural and immoral difference of race, colour, sex and land, etc. It is imperative that the humanity breaks the barriers which separate man from man and divides humanity in narrow boundaries.
Especially, our beloved country India is passing through a period of hate, casteism, conflicts and communal and poisonous divisions. It is high time we joined hands to break the walls and unite.
Politics divides and religion unites. The salvation of mankind lies in unity, solidarity and fraternity. Muslim Ummah’s basic responsibility is in rising above the narrow divisions. It is the most important need of the country to unite people on the basis of Godliness, piety and the moral principles.
Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has launched a campaign on rights of neighbours from 21 to 30 November 2025. Come! Join hands to know your neighbours so that you love your neighbours. So that we along with our neighbours and all Indians may realise the objective of promoting peace and harmony, mercy and kindness, justice and cooperation. So that India changes and we engage in the creation of a love-filled, harmonious, war-free and peaceful world. May the Merciful God help us in achieving this noble goal for us and the whole mankind.
