Habibullah Badsha who was Former Advocate General of Tamil Nadu and senior advocate always supported the Muslim community on all the legal issues of education, minority rights protection. He had given consultancy and guidance during Shah Bano case, advice to Jamaat-e-Islami Hind during bans on two occasions of the Emergency as well as Babri Masjid demolition. He supported the cause of introduction of interest free finance and banking and presided over a meeting when Dr Monzer Kahf of IDB visited. Mr. Badsha acquired a Masters in Islamic History and Bachelors Degree in Law from Madras University. He never looked back since, and was felicitated in 2008 for completing 50 years of legal service that was a balance of professional excellence and selfless social service. Late Habibullah Badsha’s interest and sound advice to appoint very high level legal luminary to fight, led to the first Islamic NBFC defeating Dr Swamy’s petition. During Tsunami he participated in coordination and relief and rehabilitation work. He took keen interest in developing talents among youngsters and recall how he encouraged them to become public speakers one among them is Br Imran Latheef Sait. His association with MEASI, Anjuman and OMEIAT is well known. His passing away is a personal loss for many. We pray Allah to forgive him and grant the best place in Jannah. Our heartfelt condolences to Br Suhail and Nikhat and to the entire family. We all have to pray and peruse to create a substitute- Namulbadal- to replace him.
