Pune based S.M. Joshi Socialist Foundation was scheduled to host book release function of Marathi translation of Who Killed Karkare written by S.M. Mushrif, on June 26, when a Mumbai based organisation served legal notice to the foundation to resist it from hosting the function and warned it of dire legal consequences if it does the same. The organisation is planning to file petition against the Foundation for anti-national activities as the book they say ‘targets India’s security apparatus’ and lodges ‘baseless allegations’ against security agencies and bolstering Pakistani position on Mumbai blast case. S.M. Mushrif, a retired Police officer, in the book claims that Hemant Karkare was murdered by Intelligence Bureau, Indian Army and Police itself, not by Pakistani militants.
