The fall of Kabul and victory of Taliban has produced far reaching effects. A full review would be possible only in the future.

Afghanistan is called the graveyard of empires. History tells us about three attempts by the then British India to subjugate this country. The British never succeeded in these attempts. Next the USSR, with all its might, occupied this country for a long period. But finally, it failed to crush the spirit of freedom and had to retreat. In this war the Afghans suffered 13 lakh casualties and unlimited destruction.

Then America, the only super power now, invaded it, installed its chosen people and in spite of its unchallengeable military power had to finally withdraw. It spent more than two trillion dollars, and lost more than 4000 men. This is a very ignominious defeat which America has suffered from the hands of a very underdeveloped, unorganised force named Taliban. It is very surprising that America trained and equipped more than three lakh Afghans but they meekly surrendered to Taliban in city after city and finally withdrew from Afghanistan. It is almost a surrender. It accepted defeat in Kabul, the capital.

The victory in Afghanistan has given fresh courage and determination to enslaved nations of the world who are still suffering under the yoke of political, financial and military dominance of more powerful nations. The so-called civilized nations are interfering in the affairs of the poor, in their words the less civilized nations, and making them militant and savage. They swear in the name of freedom but enslave their opponents. They promise development but instead give them poverty and dependence. They create belligerent groups which are made to fight each other. They create warlords and mercenaries. People who otherwise would have been engaged in agriculture, industry, education and useful activities are turned into fighters and murderers, warmongers and weapon suppliers. These things are done on a large scale by all champions of liberty, supporters of democracy and promoters of progress. This shows that there has been hypocrisy, avarice and immorality behind most of the empire builders.

To put an end to wars and conflicts, a genuine morality, a sense of responsibility and a sense of accountability to Almighty God must be inculcated and adopted as the foundation and bedrock of every society, nation and government. Otherwise humanity would be moving from one crisis to another crisis.

Concept of equality and dignity of every human being should be promoted and this has to be done by the leaders and intellectuals and opinionmakers all over the world.

Now a few words to Taliban. You have a great challenge of reconstruction of a war-torn nation. You require abundant fear of God, reconciliatory spirit and forgiveness. You must shun revenge, hate and injustice. You must have magnanimity, forbearance and moderation. You must rise to the occasion and present the best example of nation building. You should guard against injustice, discrimination and the mistakes which you, or some of you, committed in the past.
