Political parties use every opportunity to drive out some political benefit from any incident. The recent massacre in Assam is also politically linked. Killing of 32 Muslims for not voting for a political leader is no less than murder of democracy. Why the seed of hatred is sown in Assam every now and then? Why there is ethnic cleansing at frequent intervals? Why the government fails to act again and again? Why the people allow political leaders to use them for their own political benefit? It is high time that all people of Assam, no matter to which tribe they belong to, take pledge not to fight with each other and not let the political leaders to divide the region on the basis of tribe and sect. Assam can only develop like any other developed state if the sense of peace prevails in the state and when there are we feelings.
