It refers to unfortunate episode of two sisters (Anuradha and Sonali Bahal) in Noida going into deep depression to the extent of having themselves self-arrested in their house, totally cut-off from outside world for six months causing even death of one of the sisters because of starvation. Such a case in real urban life is not isolated when even real brother had to dissociate from their own blood. Brother in such cases remains helpless, mute spectator of worsening lifestyle of his real sisters.
It is time that the phenomenon of joint families may be revived by civil society because it is impossible to achieve such aspects through legislations or some other government-move. Otherwise day is not far when depression in Indian urbanites may increase manifold. Vigorous grilling of brother of Bahal sisters can be of great help to prevent such episodes.
