Liberty or Abuse!

We get what we choose either way consciously, un-consciously or subconsciously; and courtesy demands all of us to choose for our friends, relatives and others carefully what we consider good for ourselves.

We get what we choose either way consciously, un-consciously or subconsciously; and courtesy demands all of us to choose for our friends, relatives and others carefully what we consider good for ourselves.

Today there was, on one hand, in Facebook there was a ‘Press TV’ video showing spokeswomen of Iranian Foreign Ministry in Islamic dress gracefully conducting a press conference, and on the other, discussions on BBC, showing India’s Daughter, a documentary based on interview of 2013 Delhi rapist, in Canada, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, etc.

While women in the west have woken up to the abuse of women in the name of liberty, certain quarters in the east are still blindly imitating so-called western culture in the guise of modernity and liberalism, encouraged by the puppets of corporate, crony capitalist Zionists, who are always after illegitimate use of ‘wealth, wine and women’ and do not care for ruining of family ties causing sexual anarchy under different pretexts, in societies.

It is surprising as to how the western bigots preach democracy and welfare of people, and posing as their guardians, impose directly or indirectly their dirty culture of sexual anarchy by misusing and abusing women in provocative dresses from tennis courts to reception counters to air hostesses to fashion shows to beauty contests, etc., and later on produce documentary films mocking its evil consequences.

The above documentary by Leslee Udwin (who urged PM Modi against its ban), is for the time being stopped from broadcast in India, where the intellectuals are in a predicament. Some like Rajya Sabha MP Javed Akhter say ‘let us not pretend that mindset does not exist’ (and face the reality and sort out the problems) and ‘whitewash to believe all is well’ while others are appalled the way settlement of rape cases is kept hanging as ‘justice delayed is justice denied’.

Majority is surprised at the importance being given to a criminal to the extent of taking his interview and preparing a documentary on the heinous crime.

In the heat of public protests against rapes and murders, some voices of stringent punishment (of death penalty) to convict are heard, but always, subdued by irresponsible statements like ‘boys are boys!’, from even veterans sitting in Parliament.

It is true that ‘ban on such a documentary film’, is not replacement for ‘attempt to change mindset’ (that has become common way of considering women as no more than objects of passion).

The current conviction rate of 22% in rape cases also shows the utter failure of legislature, executive as well as judiciary; law nowhere is acting as a deterrent to crimes against women.

Obviously everyone, both men and women, young and old should command respect by streamlining of their thinking, expressions and actions, and not just put up demands of respect, irrespective of their own way of dress and manners.

The ugly truth of lack of ethics as backbone, in today’s so-called modern society, needs appropriate recognition and corrective actions.
