Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid expressing Union government’s intention to make Lokpal a constitutional body though apparently seen as a move towards strong Lokpal, will in fact result in a dream never to be fulfilled as it has been witnessed in case of voting for Women Reservation Bill in Rajya Sabha. Practical remedy is legislating a strong Lokpal Bill without needing any constitutional amendment first, and then giving it more power later by making it a constitutional body.
