Love, Not Hate will Save India

Because love creates, promotes and saves; and hate destroys and annihilates. Love is the foundation of creation, the Creation of our beautiful earth, the star-studded sky and the countless galaxies. Allah has created us because He loves us and man is the most beautiful expression of love of God.

Because love creates, promotes and saves; and hate destroys and annihilates. Love is the foundation of creation, the Creation of our beautiful earth, the star-studded sky and the countless galaxies. Allah has created us because He loves us and man is the most beautiful expression of love of God.

The Prophet of Mercy, Muhammad (to whom be peace) says, “Allah’s Mercy encompasses the entire creation” and creation of human beings is the best manifestation of His mercy. So there should be love and mercy among all human beings, for this there should be communication, understanding and cooperation. All those things which divide people and turn them into mutually feuding groups should be avoided.

Man has succeeded in making great achievements in the field of science yet he has to learn more to perfect the art of love, friendship and fellow feelings.

It is distressing that the humanity is divided and sub-divided in mutually fighting factions. India is a nation of nations and home to diverse ethnic groups and followers of all major religions. There is great variety and unlimited potentiality in our multi-cultural, multi-religious and multi-lingual country which now houses one-sixth of humanity. We are fully capable of presenting to the world the golden example of accommodating people of diverse views and creating a hate-free and loving society. Precisely with these objectives we started our journey after Independence and enshrined in our Constitution the golden principles of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity.

No wonder we encountered pitfalls and did our best to avoid them. Unfortunately, the present dispensation, because of its narrow worldview and prejudiced mind, is bent upon destroying the valuable principle of unity in diversity. This is being done because of a pathological and morbid view of the world based on narrow-mindedness, anti-Muslim and anti-Islam sentiments. It is undoubtedly being adopted as a tactic to polarise Hindu votes to prolong their rule.

What havoc this mentality plays can be seen in our history of communal conflicts. We are ashamed of continued hatemongering and spreading of misunderstandings. The sustained hatemongering culminated in attacks in Northeast Delhi by trained hooligans who indulged in the reprehensible acts of arson and murder on a big scale. The emboldened gangs are widely reported as having the support of the regime and a largely communalised police force. The world is not blind to these atrocities which can be seen in the worldwide condemnation from many corners, human rights activists and even governments.

The only ray of hope is the basically good nature of common people which prompted many good-hearted citizens to help their fellow citizens in distress. Let us hope that the good human nature prevails and inhuman sentiments subside.
