The academic council of Aligarh Muslim University took an important decision of making Madrasa students eligible for the courses in social sciences and arts from the next academic session. The decision was taken during the council meeting headed by the university Vice Chancellor Prof. P K Abdul Azis. Prof. Azis said the founder of this university, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, wanted to amalgamate the modern education and the Madrasa education and this decision would help materialise his dream. The council is also eyeing to start new courses as well namely M. Sc. (Information Technology), BBA, BSW (Bachelor of Social Work), Bachelor of Mass Communication, etc.
