Known for his anti-Muslim image, Yogi AdityaNath, BJP MP from Gorakhpur, on 10 April said the Madrasas are the training centres of Mujahideen and these are promoting extremist Islamic values among Muslims. In an exclusive interview with a local daily at the outskirt of Gorakhpur, the Yogi, who is also Mahant of the historic temple of Gorakhpur, claimed that there are around 100 Pakistani citizens taking shelter in different Madrasas near Indo-Nepal border. Instead of regretting his baseless allegation, the Yogi reiterated his statementin a function on 11 April adding that as the Hindus (read Hindutvawadis) demolished the historic Babri Masjid they can build Ram Mandir as well when they are united. The Yogi is supposed to be the head of the Hindu YuvaVahini which allegedly abducted dozens of Muslim girls from the countryside in the district and forced them to convert to Hinduism.
