“The aim of history is to objectively study our past; it is a record of the past and the nations; so the record should be maintained in absolute correct form,” Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari said while addressing a seminar on Critical Evaluation of History Text Books in the capital on May 16.

Maulana Umari, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Hind articulated that the concepts of one God (monotheism) and equality are two major contributions which Muslims have given to the country.

Mr. Ejaz Ahmed Aslam, Jamaat’s Public Relations Secretary said, “History is the memory of mankind and it is our responsibility to state it accurately without fear and favour. History should be studied objectively and our approach should be realistic.” He pointed out that nations always used to rewrite history according to their respective points of view, he asserted, adding that it is not correct.

The organiser of the seminar, Muhammad Ashfaque Ahmed, Education Secretary of Jamaat presented the Islamic objective of education. “To acknowledge our God who is the Creator and Master is the prime objective of seeking education,” he said.
