Recent address of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the 15th South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Summit is quite significant. Condemning the terrorists attack on Indian Embassy in Kabul and serial blasts in Bangalore and Ahmedabad, Prime Minister said: “Terrorism remains the single biggest” threat to South Asia’s stability.” Acts of terrorism have been condemned at other international fora as well. Sheer censure of these attacks is not sufficient. True perpetrators of these atrocities must be found out. Mere branding members of a particular community as terrorists and holding them responsible for every act of terrorism cannot thwart such perils.
It is time that public should come forward to fight against terrorism, violence and tyranny irrespective of caste, creed, colour and region. Joint efforts of state and public may bring fruitful results.
