Maharashtra Home Minister R.R. Patil, on April 8, revealed that the state police have an audio tape comprising a conversation of Malegaon bomb blast 2008 accused making some derogatory references to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. Patil said, “The conversation pertains to the use of a chemical powder, which if applied on footwear would result in the death of the person within two to three days and even the autopsy report cannot not help to find the cause of death. There is a mention in the conversation that Bhagwat is unfit to lead the Hindutva outfit.” Earlier, participating in the debate, NCP legislator Jitendra Avhad had alleged that the Hindutva groups were involved in different bomb blast cases and also planned to kill the RSS chief and put the blame on ISI. All the accused in the Malegaon bomb blast case have link with Abhinav Bharat, the Hindutva organisation, Avhad added. “The matter is under investigation and we have asked chemical experts to find out whether such a chemical exists,” Patil said.
