MASS NIKAH MARKS EID CELEBRATION

After the holy month of Ramadhan and Eid celebration, a Mass Nikah ceremony was held at Urdu Park, near Jama Masjid Delhi on October 17. The ceremony was organised by Shoaib Iqbal, Deputy Speaker of Delhi Assembly. Ram Vilas Paswan, President Lok Jan Shakti Party also participated in the programme as Chief Guest.

After the holy month of Ramadhan and Eid celebration, a Mass Nikah ceremony was held at Urdu Park, near Jama Masjid Delhi on October 17. The ceremony was organised by Shoaib Iqbal, Deputy Speaker of Delhi Assembly. Ram Vilas Paswan, President Lok Jan Shakti Party also participated in the programme as Chief Guest.
The programme, which was attended by around five thousand people, aimed to avoid extravagances, ill traditions and customs including dowry. The programme also witnessed grant of financial aid to the suffering Muslim families living below poverty line.
In all, nine couples who belonged to the Walled City, tied the knot, following the Eid celebration. Qazi Abd-ul-Sami Rehmani performed the Nikah for all the couples. While welcoming the newly wedded couples, Shoaib Iqbal said, “Now we plan to continue Mass Nikah Programme with Eid celebration every year. It would inspire our society to follow the right path in future,” he said.
