The Islamic Centre, Gaya (Bihar) organised the 17th annual Maulana Maududi Memorial Lecture on December 2, 2007. Dr. Zafarul Islam Khan, Editor Milli Gazette spoke on Palestine Problem: Genesis and Persecution Politics. The speaker acquainted the audience, in great detail, with this burning problem of the Muslim Ummah. “America recognised the illegal state – Israel 15 minutes before its official declaration to the world over which it has not yet declared its geographical border,” Dr. Khan said.
Many persons sought clarification on the lecture during the question-answer session.
Presided over by Maulana Tayyab Usmani, the programme was initiated by Shabbir Alam Khan and conducted by Director Islamic Centre Tameemuddin Humble. Prof. Dr. Badiuzzaman gave the vote of thanks.
The Centre has been organising the Maulana Maududi Memorial Lecture every year since it was launched by Late S.M. Iqbal 17 years ago.
