Maulana Salim Qasmi Bags Qasim Nanotvi Award

Maulana Mohammad Salim Qasmi, Rector of the prestigious seminary Darul Uloom (Waqf) in Deoband, Uttar Pradesh, was awarded with Imam Mohammad Qasim Nanotvi International Islamic Award on 20 January 2014 in a conference in Johannesburg, South Africa. Maulana Qasmi is also vice president of All India Muslim Personal Law Board.

Maulana Mohammad Salim Qasmi, Rector of the prestigious seminary Darul Uloom (Waqf) in Deoband, Uttar Pradesh, was awarded with Imam Mohammad Qasim Nanotvi International Islamic Award on 20 January 2014 in a conference in Johannesburg, South Africa. Maulana Qasmi is also vice president of All India Muslim Personal Law Board.

The award is in fact recognition of his outstanding service to the community. This was the second award since the constitution of the Award Committee in 2011. The first one was given to renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh Mahmood Afindi of Turkey. The award ceremony was attended by Mufti Abul Qasim Nomani, Rector Darul Uloom Deoband, Maulana Saidur Rahman Azmi, Rector Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulema in Lucknow, Maulana Mohammad Rafi Usmani and others.
