The death of a 35-year-old Muslim scholar has sparked concern after his body was found on railway tracks near Lal Phatak under the Cantt police station area of Bareilly.Police identified the deceased as Maulana Tausif Raza Mazhari, a resident of Thakurganj in Bihar. Officials said the body was discovered on the morning of April 27. Eyewitnesses told police that he fell from a moving train.

Authorities contacted Maulana’s family and local religious leaders. They confirmed that he had travelled to Bareilly to attend the Urs-e-Tajushsharia event held on April 24-25.

He said police officials have assured a fair and impartial probe.
