All India Mew Development Front, All India Muslim Mew Vikas Parishad (AIMMVP), Mewat Welfare India Education Society (MWIES) and a group of social workers in Mewat have supported the demand raised by the Joint Committee of Muslim Organisations for Empowerment of Muslims to grant reservations to Muslims on the basis of their social, economic and educational backwardness. National secretary of All India Mew Development Front (AIMDF) Sha’irah Begum emphasised that due to the fact that the Muslim community is lagging therefore it definitely needs immediate reservation. Making strong case for reservation AIMMVP convenor Akhtar felt that various governments have kept Muslims behind. Pleading for early grant of reservation to Muslims, MWIES secretary M. Javed maintained that since India is a secular country, therefore, everyone should be able to enjoy his rights equally. It is inappropriate to push any particular community back.
