Some miscreants attacked minority institutions belonging to Muslims and Christians in Mangalore. Two mosques and an orphanage run by the Muslim community and a Catholic cultural centre are the latest victims of the recent attack, said Governor H.R Bharadwaj. Windowpanes of the Noorani Juma Masjid and Noor-ul-Islam Juma Masjid situated adjacent to NH-17 near Kollya and Kumpla were damaged and 14-year-old Roshan, an inmate of the Noorani Yathimkhana, an orphanage under Ullal police station, was injured in the incidents. A case has been registered against the Bajrang Dal in this connection. The President and Member of the Noorani Juma Masjid in a complaint to the Superintendent of Police stated that a group of local youth barged into the mosque and broke two windowpanes. Unidentified miscreants pelted stones at the Canara Organisation for Development and Peace (CODP) near Padua at Nantoor, damaging a portrait of Mother Mary and some window panes.
