The ongoing tussle between the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and the Samajwadi Party (SP) over Raj Thackeray’s tirade against the north Indians living in Mumbai, turned into violence on February 3. As the MNS workers tried to attack Samajwadi Party workers and targeted in particular the Muslims who had come to attend a rally organised by the United National Progressive Alliance, which was addressed by former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Mulayam Singh Yadav, at Shivaji Park in Mumbai.
