Waterlogged roads and traffic snarls are a common sight in the Capital during the Rainy Season.  It happens every year. Reason?  The drains are not de-silted in time.  Every year the party sitting in the Opposition benches in the MCD and the Delhi Assembly blames the ruling party. The de-silting of drains is mainly the MCD’s concern and it has 1263 drains in its area. Till the last year it was the BJP that was blaming the ruling Congress for not arranging the de-silting process in time.  This time around it’s the Congress turn to blame as Congress Councillors have changed place in the House from the right hand side of the Mayor to the left. The Leader of Opposition in MCD Jai Kishan Sharma claimed that this year water logging would be much more than the last year’s as drains have not been de-silted properly.
On the other hand, the BJP’s Mayor, the Chairman of the Standing Committee and the Leader of the House jointly claim (in separate press conferences, though) that this year nallahs have been de-silted in a better way and at a much faster pace.  The present state to prove their point.  Amid this hue and cry of allegation and counter allegations, however the Delhiites are getting prepared to face everything that happens every year during the Monsoon.
