This refers to article “Beef and Pink Revolution in Elections 2014” (Radiance, 27 April-3 May). The Beef issue is highlighted particularly during elections. If an honest survey is conducted to ascertain beef eaters then frankly speaking the result will be surprising. To some it has been a religious issue but the way it has been raised mostly during the height of the campaign reveals that it is more a political issue than rituals. The writer has mentioned facts to give the clear picture of practice of beef eating, likes and dislikes in the Hindu scripture and religious books. BJP is in the habit of raising the issue before every election and this time too it has raised the issue only to polarise minds.
