This has a reference to an article published under the title “Trolling of Himanshi for Urging for Peace after She Lost Her Husband Lt. Vinay Narwal is National Shame” by Mr. Mohd. Naushad Khan vide Issue No. 7 of Radiance dated: 24th May, 2025.

Lt. Vinay Narwal, Naval Officer, was killed in Pahalgam massacre. His wife Mrs. HimanshiNarwal at a blood donation camp organised to commemorate Lt. Vinay’s birth anniversary said, “We don’t want people (Read: a section of fanatic Hindus) going after Muslims and Kashmiris (Read: Kashmiri Muslims).”

Her maturity at a young age deserves to be saluted. Her love for secularism and communal harmony can never be doubted. Instead of appeasing communal elements who are hell-bent for the blood of Muslims, she had chosen the path of communal harmony and national integration. Her statement will de-escalate tensions between two communities in India and abroad.

I would appeal to the national Muslim organisations such as IUML, AIMMM, AIMPLB, JIH, JUH (both the groups), AFMI, etc. (and Christian organisations too) to honour her for showing exemplary courage, in spite of the hostile atmosphere. If we do not strengthen the hands of Mrs. Himanshi-like bold people, nobody will speak up for the voiceless and depressed classes of society.

Our sympathies are with the bereaved family. May her tribe grow.

Plight of General Category Candidates

Recently the Assam Public Service Commission has declared the result of 80 candidates selected for the post of Junior Engineers (AT, May 6) wherein it shows only 16 candidates belonging to general category qualified for the recruitment. It means that the candidates belonging to reserve category share 80% of the total posts. If majority general category candidates vis-a-vis reservation policy are thus deprived of the government jobs every year, they will face severe unemployment problem in the future.

In fact, what is called the general category is the open category. It is seen in case of appointment in government jobs, a candidate belonging to reserve category is given first chance to get appointment under general category. If he fails it, he is then given second chance to get appointment under reserve category. Thus, he avails of two chances to get appointment under general and reserve categories. This is really an injustice done to general category candidates. Even there is possibility of occupying of all posts of a department by the candidates of reserve category under general or open and reserve category system. And this is the reason for which a large number of general category candidates who are generally more meritorious than reserve category candidates are badly deprived of appointment to government posts. In fact, a nation, if it does not value the merit, can hardly grow.

The Constitution of India originally created the reservation policy for backward community only for ten years. Regrettably the reservation policy still exists even 77 years after Independence of India. Consequently, it is gradually making the socio-economic condition of general category people worse and weaker than that of reserve category people in India.

So, the Union government is highly obliged to do away with the reservation policy for bringing about an economic equilibrium among all its citizens. If not possible, it should at least rescind the open category system followed in case of recruitment and admission in India.

AI cannot Replace Humans in Stock Market

While artificial intelligenceoffers insights in stock market analysis, it lacks human intuition and emotional understanding, which are crucial in volatile markets. AI cannot predict sudden geopolitical events or understand cultural nuances affecting investor behaviour. Thus, human expertise remains essential for a comprehensive analysis of the Indian stock market.
