The family of Khalid Mujahid on 29 May refused to accept the compensation cheque worth Rs 6 lakh offered by the Akhilesh Yadav government of Uttar Pradesh. “Parasnath Yadav, a cabinet minister from Jaunpur along with District Magistrate and SDO came here visiting. They insisted to accept the cheque but we refused as no cheque can compensate the life of our nephew. Mujahid and his kin are yet to get justice. It would be insolence to his blood if I accept the cheque,” said Maulana ZaheerAlamFalahi, the uncle of Khalid Mujahid. He further added that the Nimesh Commission has proved Mujahid an innocent but the government is sitting over it for unknown reasons. Mr.Falahi also demanded immediate release of Mujahid’s co-accused Maulana Tariq Qasmi and two others.
