In yet another case of discrimination against Muslims in Mumbai, a mall in the city has allegedly used force to stop Muslim boys from entering into it on the occasion of Eid. Yusuf Parmar, Vice President of Gujarat Muslim Sapai Samaj, said he was passing through Goregaon’s Oberoi Mall on 11 August when he saw Muslim children being stopped from entering the mall. “The G4S security guards posted on the entrance were forcibly stopping the Muslim children from entering the mall”, he alleged. Parmar asked the security guards about the reason, but he could not give any satisfactory reply. Then he lodged a complaint with the mall authorities and sent a copy of the same to the Additional Police Commissioner Sunil Pawaskar.

Parmar’s allegations came a day after a mall in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, was reported charging entry fee from Muslims. Earlier in some case, Muslims in Mumbai were not allowed to purchase homes in housing societies run by non-Muslims.
