A 14-year old Muslim girl, Sidhra Malik, has been denied admission in class nine by several government schools in Delhi without any reason. Having no option left, the parents of the girl has approached the All India Parents Association for help. Advocate Ashok Agrawal, national president of AIPA, said the girl passed class 8 in 2012-13 from Modern Convent Junior High School (recognised), Noida, UP and she is having a valid transfer certificate. However, the government school at Patpargang, Delhi-91 and the government school at Pocket 4 refused her admission saying, “Go to another school.” Later, Mr. Agrawal wrote to the Education Minister of Delhi, Kiran Walia, urging her intervention.
