Muslims of Fatehpur Tol Mahulia village under Sitamarhi district of Bihar have been forced to leave their village as the fascist forces threaten them with their lives and cause heavy destruction to their property every year ahead of the festival Mahaveeri Jhanda. Mahulia is a cent per cent Muslim concentrated village surrounded with majority dominated villages from its four sides.

Mahaveeri Jhanda is celebrated in some parts of Bihar. People gather with a flag called Mahaveeri Jhanda and perform some rituals. As far as the said village is concerned, the gathering perform their rituals in the field in front of the village and some anti-social elements use this opportunity to spread rumours and harm communal harmony. The same continued to happen in the past. So, the Muslims are left with no choice but to leave the village a day before the gathering and return after two or three days.
