The administration of Sant Kabir Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh on October 24 issued an order to the villagers of Mosara under Dharma Sanghawa police station regarding prevention of Muslims from Qurbani even of a goat, saying it would create communal disharmony among the villagers. A long talk between District Administration of Sant Kabir Nagar and Muslims of Mosara village resulted in deadlock. Also the villagers could not be able to approach the local Member of Parliament Bhisham Shankar alias Kushal Tiwari of Bahujan Samajwadi Party and the local Member of Legislative Assembly Lakshmi Kant alias Pappu Nashad of Samajwadi Party.
Pasmanda Muslim Samaj has written a letter to the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh regarding permission to perform Qurbani of goats in their houses. The Samaj also mentioned in its letter to the Chief Minister that there was no objection on routine sacrifice of goats in Mosara as hundreds of goats scarified daily in the locality and both Hindus and Muslims buy mutton to fulfil their need. The fascist forces objected only on the Qurbani of goats during three days of Eid al-Adha and the district administration banned the same under their pressure.
Meanwhile, the president of World Council of Arya Samaj, Sawami Agniwesh, has written to the Union Home Minister not to permit Qurbani of camels. Sawami stated that his intension is not to hurt the sentiments of any religious group but to save the rare animals. Muslims say Swami did not utter a single word on sacrificing animals on the occasion of Navratri and when it came to Eid al-Adha, he started objecting. He did not mean but to interfere in the religious duties of Muslims.
