The Central Government has decided to extend 50 per cent scholarship to the Muslim students from the OBC quota in Maharashtra. It is expected that Muslim students falling under OBC categories would be benefited. The Muslim students who are studying outside the State or abroad would also be eligible for the scholarship. The Ministry of Social Justice of the government of India, through a recent order, has decided to include Muslim OBC students under the financial assistance scheme from within the OBC quota.
