In a message to students, alumni and staff of the Aligarh Muslim University, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. P.K. Abudul Azis said the country is observing the 111th Death Anniversary of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, the founder of the Aligarh Muslim University and the Aligarh Movement on March 27 with a variety of programmes commemorating his life and contributions. The AMU fraternity also joins in remembering the invaluable services that he has rendered for the people of Indian subcontinent and for the Muslims of India especially.

The downtrodden Muslim community in the country has to learn a lesson from the life and mission of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan who sowed the seed of modern education for the Muslims of India.

Prof. Azis urged Indian Muslims, wherever they are, should come forward to carry the Aligarh Movement to all parts of the country and sow the seeds of modern education in every village so that each child is able to get educated. We should declare a ‘Decade for Muslim Education’ to create an education revolution in the country.
