Kashmiri people have voiced concern over the activities of missionary people coming to Kashmir as tourists and luring innocent people, especially orphans, towards Christianity. The Ulema have decided to write a detailed letter to the state government on fresh disclosures on conversions. A meeting was organised by Majlis-e-Tahafuz-e-Iman at the Mirwaiz Manzil at RajouriKadal, Kashmir in this regard on 16 April. The participating members expressed their shock that some officials in the government were found helping the missionaries and their aides in extending their visas to give them a longer stay in Kashmir. After meeting, a member stated that the available evidences suggested that the missionaries have “spread their net under a well-planned conspiracy” across the valley. The meeting was attended by Advocate Zahid Ali of Jamaat-e-Islami, Maulana Abbas Ansari of ItihadulMuslimeen, Aga Syed Al Hassan of Anjuman-e-Share-Shian, Moulana Syed Ahmed Shah Qasmi of DarulUloomQasmiya and many others.
