The NCERT has introduced two new modules on Operation Sindoor for students of classes 3 to 12. The modules detail the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which, according to official accounts, was carried out on the “direct orders” of Pakistan’s military and political leadership.

The modules, titled “Operation Sindoor – A Saga of Valour” for classes 3 to 8 and “Operation Sindoor – A Mission of Honour and Bravery” for classes 9 to 12, aim to instil awareness among students about India’s military preparedness, national unity, and the sacrifices of security personnel.

The supplementary material explains how Indian Muslims across cities openly condemned the Pahalgam attack, with many wearing black armbands as a mark of protest. In Kashmir, shopkeepers closed their establishments, while villagers near the border demanded strict action and voiced support for the Armed Forces. “Their response breaks stereotypes and shows the real voice of peace-loving people,” the module notes.

According to the NCERT content, India retaliated with precision missile and air strikes on May 7, targeting nine terror sites in Pakistan and PoJK. Seven camps were destroyed by the Indian Army, while the Air Force hit key Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed bases in Muridke and Bahawalpur. The modules highlight that all targets were carefully verified to ensure no civilian casualties.
