The National Federation of Girls Islamic Organisation (NFGIO) launched its month-long nationwide “Embracing Femininity” campaign at a press conference held at the Bangalore Islamic Foundation Trust (BIFT), Queens Road, Bengaluru on August 1. The campaign, which will run from August 1 to 31, seeks to help young women rediscover femininity as part of their fitrah (innate nature) while promoting a balanced, value-based understanding of empowerment.

Sameen Momin, National Campaign Convener, outlined the campaign’s objectives and announced that seminars, campus engagements, workshops, online sessions and awareness programmes would be organised across GIO units, zones and university campuses throughout the month.

NFGIOVice President AfeefaTahniyath said many women today find themselves caught between two extremes – patriarchal attitudes that restrict their dignity and narratives that encourage them to reject their feminine nature. The campaign, she said, offers a Third Space rooted in Islamic values, where femininity is embraced as a source of strength, balance and inner peace.

Basira Banu, ZAC member of GIO Karnataka, highlighted the campaign’s relevance in the present social context and appealed to students and young women across Karnataka to actively participate in its programmes.

In her keynote address, NFGIO PresidentAdv. Sumaiya Roshan said the campaign reaffirms women’s dignity, while promoting a balanced understanding of femininity.
