The National Investigation Agency is set to file the charge-sheet over Malegaon blasts soon, paving the way for a formal release of nine Muslim youths. The NIA is busy preparing the same against at least seven Hindu extremists. “Though we have time till 20 May to file the charge-sheet, we may file it before the deadline,” stated an official at the Agency. The Malegaon blast in 2006 has claimed at least 38 lives.
Earlier, the ATS had probed the case and arrested nine Muslim youths in this regard. But, Swami Aseemanand’s confession to a magistrate in 2010 exposed the conspiracy and the NIA arrested at least five Hindu extremists in the case.Meanwhile, in another case, the NIA has denied the cancer report of SadhviPragya Singh Thakur and urged the government to redo the medical examination.
