Amir Jamaat | Noteworthy Contributions |
Maulana Abul Lais Islahi Nadvi | He faced a very difficult atmosphere of post partition India and succeeded in sailing the Jamaat through those conditions safely, maintaining its correct direction unaffected by all the turmoil. |
Maulana Muhammad Yusuf | He introduced Jamaat-e-Islami Hind abroad, particularly in the Gulf, Middle East and other Muslim countries. |
Maulana Sirajul Hasan | He introduced young leadership in the Jamaat giving important assignments like Zonal Presidents and Secretaries to young men; a move that effected smooth transition of leadership from one generation to another. His another major contribution was to give the Jamaat a Dawah orientation, encouraging its workers to reach out to the non-Muslim brothers and sisters with message of love and affection of Islam. Translation work of the Qur’ān in different languages was given impetus. He further made close contacts with religious leaders of different religions. |
Dr. Muhammad Abdul Haq Ansari | His period was characterised by national mass movements. Major national level campaigns like Human Rights Campaign, Islamic Family Life Campaign, besides a number of regional campaigns like Qur’ān for All and Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be to him) for all, were the hallmarks of his tenure. He further provided impetus for social service activities. |
