It is ironical that we see two faces of America today. The unprecedented victory of a biracial man as the President of the sole superpower demonstrated the power of democracy in the country and also the broadmindedness of its people. But on the other hand, no other country in the world has hoodwinked democratic principles as did America. For six decades, the veto power was used to serve its interests in West Asia. The U.N was reduced to be a toothless entity when America invaded Iraq without prior sanction. America talks about exporting democracy to the breakaway states of Soviet Russia to gain foothold in the Caracass. Barack Obama needs to prove that America not only promises democracy but also practises it too.
