Western military adventurism in Iraq, Afghanistan and now in Libya is in fact discreditable crudeness and vulgarism. Their aerial invasion of Libya is nothing but showcasing their atrocious might and yet another endeavour of maintaining political and economic hegemony on the globe, which had developed cracks. They are just in their actions for they have the might and other countries simply don’t oppose these actions to protect their own vested interests from America and its allies. From the so-called Nobel Peace laureate Obama to power hungry Sarkozy, all are after their sheer political and petty interests and hardly concerned about the already oppressed, impoverished, and strife-torn Libyan civilians.
Just bombarding them and reducing human lives to trash, adding to human rights violations and abuse is nothing but preparation for yet another holocaust after Nazi’s but under the polite garb of Veto and modern democratic hollow ideals. It is also the politics of oil grabbing and indirectly trying to seize Libyan black gold resources (oil) to meet the energy crisis in the west easily and comparatively cheaply as Libya is the oil supplier to the same attacking States.
One more important characteristic is USA’s and its allies taste for military adventurism and shaping up colonies; attacking Libya is an endeavour to shape another US colony by heavy militarisation and thereby to plan to form a mere puppet pro-American and pro-west government which could serve their interests easily and readily for all times ahead. We must laud India, Russia and China for not participating in such a vicious, politically coloured, economically motivated, humanly brutal, literally unjust, mass offensive and deliberate inhuman action.
It can in no way build peace as their all models of peace are a big failure in Afghanistan and Iraq. They invade, bruise the common psyche, impoverish a nation of its assets, disgrace its constitution and state sovereignty, create hatred and hostility among masses, nurture war crimes like rape and mass murders, flourish terror, mature it and enjoy it by pushing Muslim nations to flames of unrest, rebellion, turmoil and dissensions.
Attacking with cruise missiles can in no way be treated as supporting Libyan pro-democracy uprising but has been forced into a hazardous confrontation against Gaddafi’s tyrant regime. Should Gaddafi go or continue needs to be decided by its public or if they sincerely ask for help from the UN, it should initiate its dialogue in this concern. Should UN’s no-fly zone order be restricted to Gaddafi only and how is giving a destroying nod to Western fascist democracies so just, appropriate and legitimate remains to be answered.
Also, it should be neither understood as a sort of solidarity with the Libyan anti-Gaddafi rebels nor should it be taken as a civilian freedom endeavour, it is typically an energy war, colony craze, demographic engineering, political operation for continuing western hegemony and an indirect mode of creating market instabilities especially that of the oil.
US and Western pseudo-democratic tyrants must realise that they are consciously shaping and reshaping a volatile geography of anger, hostility and terror across South Asia, Middle East and now Africa be it their futile interferences in other states’ internal issues, bomb and attack policy, unjustifiable rapid military invasions, forcible authority procedures in the affairs of third world especially in the Muslim world, whose repercussions and ramifications may prove lethal for them in terms of ferocious and more violent retaliation, counter terror activities and conspiracies by their targets and their victims can punish them for all such mighty, brutal and ruthless attacks and moral travesties in their countries.
Such a provoking violence in today’s globalised era can give birth to more violence and terrorism, insecurity and heart-rending incidents only. West’s creating mass uncertainty by demolishing the states to control their economic destiny, resources, encountering their cultural cohesion is actually inviting greater concern and people have started opening their mouths by challenging western especially American relevance and rhetoric.
The west’s political globalisation game is fast destabilising national borders, jeopardising social cohesion by creating mass uprisings, conflicts, and violence through conspiracies and funding and even encouraging all other unjust and immoral activities to gain its direct or indirect control over resource rich states. And to their fortune they easily find scapegoats for a nation’s collapse and gain control by creating social and economic anxieties. Arjun Appadurai in his book, Fear of Small Numbers (2005) argues that sometimes indiscriminate and reckless deployment of U.S. power may be contributing to political destabilisation and violent backlash if we wish to address some of the root causes of terrorism in a meaningful way.
Libya must not be another Afghanistan or Iraq; so its fate must be left to Libyan organisations and its people and such organisations can create a much-needed ample space for democratic deliberation and decision making, thereby helping the state to follow just means and ends peacefully.
