The Government of Uttar Pradesh has denied permission to Asaduddin Owaisi to hold a rally in Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh. The rally was scheduled to be held on 1 February. Owaisi said the administration did not cite any reason for denying permission. Owaisi had applied for the same one month in advance.
Meanwhile, the Government of Uttar Pradesh, on 28 January, announced an increment in the stipend of Madrasa teachers in the state. From now on, those who are teaching at Intermediate level and Graduate level will be given a bonus of Rs 1000 and 2000 respectively. Those who have both PG and B.Ed degrees will be paid a bonus worth Rs 3000.
