People deserve the rule they need. As the King so are the subject is an old worn out adage. It is now as the people so are the rulers. What can we expect other than a military rule in a country like Pakistan where capable political leaders are absent, militancy is at its peak, judiciary at loggerheads and defiant with the legislature, linguistic, ethnic and religious bigotry ruling high, secular and democratic climate non-existent?
One feels that he had no option but to take this extreme measure of emergency in the midst of heavy mounting problems in his country. It was not unexpected at all. However we wish our neighbouring country Pakistan all the best and an early return to normalcy.
