The war of words between some quarters in India and Pakistan has spoiled the bonhomie which had started sprouting on the sidelines of the Mohali test. For the people on both sides of the border, it is immaterial whether India could strike at the terrorist groups on the Pakistan soil, and whether Pakistan can retaliate to the Indian action. Since these two nations are destined to live side by side, peace and trust should be the cornerstones in the relations but not an atmosphere of hatred and mutual threat.
