Physician, Cure Thyself

Professor Muhammad Rafat’s systematic exposition in the Special Issue on Arab Spring (Radiance Viewsweekly, 19-25 August 2012) is informative and thought provoking.
We have to note that English writers like Charles Dickens who have taken sides with the downtrodden, Americans who are crying about liberty, unity and fraternity, the Russian socialists like Marx and Lenin, etc., have all come out with their ideas, centuries after our Prophet’s speech of Hajj-a-tul-wida (the last pilgrimage of the Prophet), which includes all the above mentioned values. Perhaps it is for the same reason that even Chairman Mao was supposed to have remarked that if at all any religion is to be allowed in China it will be ‘Islam only’.
In spite of all these historical facts and their present gross violation of human rights and undemocratic stances both inside their own lands as well as outside, these shameless nations poke their noses into the affairs of other countries. Let them see a mirror.
