A Mumbai based advocate has filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against the National Security Advisor (NSA), top politicians and bureaucrats for grossly failing in their duty to avert Mumbai terror attacks. Mr. Patil in his PIL has alleged that that top bureaucrats and politicians were “negligent” and “irresponsible” in discharging their duties. The PIL also demands that the whole incidents, which claimed so many innocent lives, be enquired into by a sitting judge of High Court as is in the case of 1993 Bombay riots. This should be done with the sole purpose of bringing to fore the failure and lapses in the government machinery as well as the intelligence network of the country. Specifically targeting NSA M.K. Narayanan, Mr. Patil termed him as “irresponsible” and sought action against him. The PIL requests the Union government for “permanent” deployment of National Security Guard in Mumbai and other important cities in the country.
