Results for the 10+2 is out. Today, students who have passed out of Class XII have far more educational and career options to explore than what we all had a couple of years ago. What’s interesting, however, is that the majority of sought-after options from back then continue to be hot favourites even now – dream colleges are still IITs for engineering and AIIMS for medicine, although teenagers today have a whole lot of other interesting options to choose from.
Before we go into what career options are available to Class XII students, let’s see how one goes about making a career choice. While making a decision one needs to strike a balance between what you are good at and enjoy, and pursuing a career in a field that is worth it. Ironically, what we have been witnessing from ages is we often opt for traditional while planning a career. Often do we see our parents’ choice being imposed over their children, or group hysterias play their part. Unfortunately, what we really don’t pay heed to is our aptitude and our zest towards anything or work which we would just love to do. There are a whole lot of institutions available where we can assess our children’s inclination, which can play instrumental in deciding our children’s direction in career. We need to be better aware of these tools which would certainly help our children to be in a right place.
