The rejection of idea mooted by members of civil society in Joint Drafting Committee for bringing those in legislature and judiciary, including Prime Minister and Parliamentarians by government-representatives was on expected lines. It was over-expectation by civil society members that a consensus would be reached.
Denial of providing a copy of letter from Union Law Minister to Prime Minister to ‘accept’ demands of civil society for a Joint Drafting Committee under RTI Act creates suspicion about the government’s intentions on the matter.
