In the month of Ramadan with the gleaming moon,
The gates of heaven open,
Giving joy of sun or starlight or rain’s tune.
Getting the sins abandoned
Forming new, profound bond with Allah
Renewed vows, clean slate, fresh promises,
The days of blessing and peace and truth,
Realising the hunger and thirst in tender tooth.
By fasting self-control becomes a home for tired hearts,
We pray, we pray furiously, for success in Ramadan,
Our prayers may be heard,
Even though they have no sound.
Ramadan reminds me of rain,
Catering the good seeds,
Gaining obedience and inner self-humane,
To get good deeds.
