This refers to the news item “Malhotra Statement Irresponsible, Criminal Defamatory: Mushawarat” (Radiance, 6-12 April). The BJP in its manifesto has assured safe and secure environment for Muslims but on the contrary they are using statements against the Muslim community the way they want. Malhotra’s statement that Jamia Nagar and Batla House areas of South Delhi are dens of terrorists reveals the mindset of the party and its misunderstanding of Muslims in India. They make poisonous statements to divide both the communities to get political advantage without even considering the damage they are doing to the cohesive social fabric of the country. BJP is in the habit of appeasing on the one hand and displeasing rather attacking the Muslim community on the other.
