In her will which was read by her son Bilawal, Benazir named him the chairman of PPP and Zardari, the co-chairman in the event of her death. When alive, she assumed the title of chairperson for life of PPP. When she could not run her party democratically and even named her successor, how could anyone call her a great democrat. Her death is definitely tragic and the culprits need to be severely punished but let’s not become too emotional and call her by names that she truly does not deserve keeping in mind the fact that she ran one of the most corrupt governments in Pakistan during her stint as the PM. It may be an insult to other genuine democrats and martyrs.
