It is a blessing in disguise that political opportunism among now-distanced Kalyan Singh and Mulayam Singh Yadav has been exposed, which will badly harm both the former short-lived friends. Kalyan Singh as usual has once again become politically unemployed with no sign of any one willing to provide him with a political shelter. Samajwadi Party is utterly confused to gather votes through conflicting approaches. It welcomed Kalyan Singh to get Lodh votes but when Muslims went away from the party, SP broke relations with Kalyan Singh. But undoing the wrong done by distancing from Kalyan Singh cannot bring back Muslim votes for Mulayam Singh. Unfortunately Indian political system has become victim of politics of opportunism rather than politics of ideology.
