People in Bihar have been suffering from floods year after year. And in spite of all the technology available, the government has not been efficient enough to take measures to prevent the flood situation. This year, the Kosi River has taken its original path and has deprived entire communities of their kith and kin, cornering them in a very disastrous situation. It is high time the authorities took real emergency steps instead of playing blame games. This is the time when the government and local authorities must stand together and prove to the world that they are capable of facing such situations without any problem. The government is still coming out with meagre relief measures like Rs 1000 crore aid and a few lakh bottles of water. Is this what a powerful government, which spends crores on nuclear projects should do for the population?
